While preparing for the Chiplet’s birthday, I did lots of decorating and need to share two major takeaways.
Sometimes I go to make a recipe and think I have all of the necessary ingredients but then forget something. This seems to happen a lot lately. Almost like I’m sleep-deprived? Hahaha. Well, anyway, it’s not like I have all of the time to just run out and pick up what I need when I realize it, so I have learned to be flexible.
Once the weather starts getting warmer…actually, no, that’s not true. Once it starts getting more consistently sunny. Or warmer. Or both. I don’t really care, I just get the grilling itch. I really don’t understand why I like it so much. It is a similar amount of work to cooking inside, but for some reason I find it enjoyable.
Nothing too crazy here today. Just ice cream without cream. Now, this isn’t ice cream that will completely fool you into thinking it is normal ice cream. And I would still like to try other options in the future with coconut milk, but this was a great first attempt. The Fudgelet and Chiplet were both big fans.
I made liege waffles and kept forgetting to take new pictures but here I am today with some more, and a substitution!
One weekend I randomly decided to try to make a different shape of pasta. No particular reason, just felt like making pasta. I am sharing it today in case you decide to make some pasta as a romantic gesture for Valentine’s Day.
I do want to state that I did not make the most beautiful farfalle, but it was a first attempt. And, I also feel it is okay because if it tastes okay and it took some effort, your special someone will probably still appreciate it.
We were going to be going over one of the Fudgelet’s school friends’ houses and I wanted to bring a snack. My usual ideas wouldn’t work because the other boy has various allergies. Somehow I happened to think of cheese crackers. I hadn’t made them since I was dating K and still living in Maryland. The crackers tasted even better than I remembered and were worth the effort. But, as is the nature of toddlers, the other boy ended up not even having any. Haha! Ah well. The mom, Fudgelet, and I were big fans.
