Topic-Changing Thursdays: Leaf Painting (and more)

Something simple for today. Obviously we are in Winter and there aren’t leaves all around to do this now. Sooo, this will have to be something you save. Or you could use other objects and do the same idea. Basically, the Fudgelet and I picked up some leaves on our way home from a walk (we had gone to a toddler activity in the neighborhood). I wrapped them in plastic wrap to keep them a bit fresh and flat until we were ready to use them.

Spraypainting Pumpkins

Growing up, carving pumpkins meant that I did pick out a pumpkin I liked at the patch (after riding on a hayride), and then drew a face on it with a marker. I was also responsible for cleaning out my own pumpkin guts. My dad would do the actual carving. I didn’t even know about the stencils/etc. that people use. We just did the basic triangle eyes, nose, and sharp teeth. Apparently there is a whole world of pumpkin design out there.

I think sometimes our loved ones hang around a bit longer, or make appearances in random memories or dreams. But, I am also a gullible sort and willing to be more open to strange ideas. If you’re looking for Halloween recipe ideas, feel free to check out my other posts this week

Our old home never had trick-or-treaters, so we’re hoping for a good batch here. We bought lots of candy! Either way, I can always sacrifice myself to the leftover candy. I made sure to pick out candy I enjoy eating. Mwahaha.
