Fudgelet and Chiplet Adventures (part 2): Assorted Big and Small Kid Activities with a Bin

Sometimes I come up with activities that are designed for the Chiplet but then the Fudgelet wants to do them, too. So, you can decide for your kids if these are suitable for your 1-2-3-4-5 year olds.

Topic-Changing Thursdays: Crafts and Adventures with Fudgelet and Chiplet

Once we came back from Maryland, I realized two things both related to the Fudgelet starting school in less than a month. One, he would not be around as much soon, so it was a good time to throw in some more random activities with them. And two, soon it would just be me staring at the Chiplet all day, so I needed to get the rust off of my toddler crafts/activities. By practicing with the Fudgelet around to help demonstrate proper behavior (most of the time), the Chiplet could be eased into the activities. Below are some activities for both kids or just for the Fudgelet. Some were supposed to be for just the Chiplet, but I’ve learned that the Fudgelet always joins in. Always.

Fudgelet and Chiplet Adventures (part 22): Snowy Winter

I know we are a month into spring already, but I figured this was as good a time as any to wrap up winter with some pictures. Maybe you will see something of interest for next winter.

Fudgelet Adventures (part 21): Pop-up Polar Bear Craft

We actually made this craft during the Fudgelet’s “P” week at preschool. Totally unintentional. If it had been planned, I would have had him take it in to share. Basically we were browsing Pinterest for ideas as we sometimes do, and we came across this craft. He wanted to make it, but the Chiplet woke up not long after so that night after bedtime I took the time to draw the parts and have everything ready. We ended up not getting around to it for over a week because we did other things and the Chiplet was doing really awful sleep. We followed the basic guidelines from this website but worked in some of our own ideas too.

Fudgelet Adventures (part 18): Oil and Water Lava Lamp (and more)

Here is are fun simple activities for when you need a little quiet time. Not quiet time to yourself…I can’t help you with that, but quiet time with a 3 year old. Now, my almost 4 year old is finally calming down again. He was a great young 3 year old, and then a very emotional and cranky 3.5 year old. 3.75 years-4 years is feeling better again. Which is also nice since the baby is more on the move now and I need to focus on him even more than before. Anyway, I got the idea to make some more calming jars and they really do seem to help the Fudgelet when he needs some down time. Making them is also part of the fun.

Fudgelet Adventures (part 17): Homemade Car Garage and colors

I made a car garage for the Fudgelet at some point…I think last year? I honestly can’t remember. I don’t think I documented it because I didn’t think it would turn out. It was a bit challenging because I didn’t have a hot glue gun (thanks Dad and M for my Christmas present!) but it ended up looking decent and the Fudgelet still plays with it. Well, fast forward to some point after the Chiplet was born. The ramp broke because he was a little too rough for it and the tape couldn’t hold it any longer. I realized I could fix it with my new hot glue gun. And then I decided to attempt to make a new one for him.
