We are in the stage of baby-time when I have lots of recipes I want to make but not much time to make them since the baby is a bit picky with his sleep. So, read ahead to see some food I would like to make as well as some pictures of my two non-napping sons.
Welcome to the final days of September! The final days of summer are here, and I am sharing a few sweet treats to round out your summer. Or maybe you’ve already moved onto Autumn and are ready to have rich chocolate cake. I have that, too. Either way, enjoy your Friday!
As I type this, it is barely after 10 pm and I am exhausted. The Fudgelet has not slept well ALL WEEK. Naps have been so-so, so I have been trying to get some naps in when he sleeps, but it’s still not enough. It’s all of the bad stuff…he has gone to bed late, woken up a lot, and gets up early (bad for naps, and not enough total sleep for either of us). Ugh ugh. I hope we are moving on from this phase soon. Usually he gives me at least one decent night a week, but not a one. Maybe he is gearing up with a couple weeks of bad sleep followed by AMAZING sleep forever and ever and ever? A mom can dream. Anyway…excuse any sleep-deprived nonsense. Thanks for stopping by, as always 🙂
Welcome, April! I know, it’s already a week in, but Spring deserves extra welcomes. We’ve been keeping busy running around as much as possible since there is always so much to do in so little time, and the Fudgelet loves running errands so that he can scout out new places. One of his favorites? Asian grocery stores for the fish tanks. He loves seeing the crabs, tilapia, and other critters swimming around.
It’s been awhile since I’ve shared some favorites. I thought I had done one recently, but it’s been two months! What with the holidays and trying to get certain recipes to post in a timely fashion (which doesn’t always happen…I’m looking at you, rugelach!), here we are with a delayed one.
Today I am bringing some Fall recipes, desserts, side dishes, and main courses. Some great variety to make you hungry. I was fine before I started writing this, but now am hungry. So, I will make this short so that I can get a snack. 😉 I hope you had a great Thanksgiving, if you celebrate, and aren’t super nuts with your Black Friday shopping (I never got into that, but I’m not a huge shopper anyway).
Currently, I am working on a craft that I hope to have finished and written about before this post goes live. We shall see! I guess I could be working on it now, but my eyes are a bit too tired for using scissors. Summer left, and I’m still in shock that September has also flown by, and here we are mostly through October. Yeesh. Is this what getting old feels like? Everything is fast? I do find myself trying to appreciate holidays, seasons, and sunny days more with the Fudgelet. I want to make sure that he enjoys these things and has some traditions growing up.
We have been working on getting the Fudgelet to eat more food. He has always been on the small side, and he likes food, but has some normal toddler finickiness. When I meal plan, or bookmark recipes for later, I try to keep him in mind, too. Are there parts of the meal he could eat? That he likes? Or something new for him to try? That part is fun…it’s less fun when he tosses the food on the floor, and then I have to clean it up after begging him to eat.
