To welcome in the new year, I wanted to share some pictures from our end of 2020. Obviously so many of us are ready to be done with many things from last year, but I know that most of the bad stuff isn’t going to end with the calendar. If only it could work that way. I wish that we had set dates to know when some stuff will get better, when we will be able to see our families again, etc. Even though there are some bad things, there were some good moments for us.Continue reading
As we ended the school year and moved into summer time fun, I still had some activities for around the house since playgrounds remained closed.
The weather has been pretty crazy here lately. We have had some great weather days, some hot and muggy days, some rainy days, and everything in between. But we have still managed to get outside most of the days, even if it is just for a bit. I have been trying to mix up our activities so that we aren’t always doing the same things outside. So, some days I ask the Chiplet first what he wants, and other times the Fudgelet. The first activity chosen usually dictates front yard or back yard, and then the other kid can pick from that location. Other days I have been planning small activities, maybe bringing out something we haven’t done for a bit, just to keep things interesting.
Still keeping it mostly simple with the letters…I am losing track a bit on which ones I have shared here, so I might need to go back and check. But, today I bring K!
Of course we had to do kangaroo! Complete with a joey in a pouch.
Then, for the little uppercase K we did Kite. Just to drive it home further, we have little Ks as ribbons on the kite string.
He still loves doing all of the crafts.
We are still here doing much of our usual routine, although the letter crafts have gotten spread out a bit more since I’m also working on the Fudgelet’s schoolwork while he is out of school for the next indefinite time period. We have also been going outside a bunch, partially since the Fudgelet normally gets two recesses a day, partially that we aren’t able to go anywhere and it helps to break up the day, and also because it has been so nice out. After a very dark January, we are still wanting to soak up sunshine.
But now, let’s talk about letter J!
Sometimes we go out of order, depending on what the Chiplet is in the mood to make. For this week, we started with lowercase r.
I just want to send good thoughts to everyone out there that might be dealing with the virus going around the world right now. You might know that it has hit my area pretty bad and continues to get worse. We have been trying to stay home when we can and keep away from the germs, but it is hard to do. We are still continuing our activities at home, which is our transition to letter I today.
