Today I am bringing a recipe that is less about the specifics and more a process to follow. I was in the mood for a graham cracker and brownie dessert, so I decided to put the two together. Normally this could be a smores kind of dessert, but I left out the marshmallows. You could always add them in, whether mixed into the middle, or maybe make some meringue to go on top and toast it.
I am still trying to figure out candy making. Occasionally I nail it and feel so proud of myself, and other times it fails abysmally. For today’s adventure in candy, I know that part of the problem was I made a change…the recipe was supposed to be for peanut butter and I substituted almond butter because of the Chiplet. I used an almond butter that is super close to peanut butter for texture but it isn’t my favorite for taste, so that might have been another fail on my part.
I know it isn’t Pi Day yet, but consider this your Pi Day post since it is on a weekend this year.
I was excited to find a non-baked pie recipe I could make that is creamy but vegan. The original recipe called for peanut butter, but natural peanut butter, so it was easy to swap with almond butter.
There is no common theme today. Sorry. I feel like I haven’t been this tired in a long while. Basically, the Chiplet has been continuing to wake up at night, but coupling it with not great naps and waking up super early. It’s been fun. So, my brain is pretty fuzzy. But, I have still been cooking and baking a bunch, so here are some results of those efforts.
