Recently we went on a vacation that was a few hours’ drive away. It was really nice, but there was a lot of planning for it. We had a house complete with a decent-sized kitchen, but I wasn’t sure what would be there. They did say that condiments and food items would not be there for sanitary purposes. So, even though we were only there for a bit, I needed to pack some travel-sized versions of food since we didn’t want to eat our for every meal.

My kids have been loving popsicles this summer. The favorite has been frozen strawberries, peaches, and a partially frozen banana blended in the food processor, then frozen in the molds. No added sugar needed and they love it. Sometimes I add a splash of milk too. This recipe looked interesting, and the Fudgelet likes it, although it was a bit sweet for me and the Chiplet. I’ve never had a real Dole Whip, so I’m not sure what they taste like. I used orange juice because I couldn’t find my pineapple juice until it was too late. Maybe next time!Continue reading

This recipe sounded funny and simple, so I wanted to try it. It is basically a choux pastry dough but baked in a non-fussy way. The puffs are kind of like a cross between canneles and cream puffs because they don’t form a hole in the middle but have that kind of texture.Continue reading
