Apple Butter Star Bread

If you’re looking for something to use your apple butter with, then here is a recipe. It was quite popular with my kids and did not last long. It has apple butter in it, but if that isn’t enough for you, we also ate it with more apple butter. Definitely good.

Slow Cooker Apple Butter

The kids had been wanting to go apple picking for years. We didn’t go for various reasons (kids were too little to do any picking, lots of rain, a long drive, etc. We finally took them this year and probably won’t go again for awhile (it was fine, but the apples are so expensive compared to the store, and if we want a better price, the drive is twice as long). In the end, we picked over 30 pounds of apples. It was ridiculous. So, we have been eating apple treats of all varieties. I thought this would be a fun recipe to try because the kids love applesauce, and it is similar.

Tips-y Tuesdays: Don’t Forget Berries!

Just popping in here to remind you…don’t forget berries! Or other fruit! After making waffles and pancakes regularly each weekend at this point in the pandemic (we miss going to our local diner place), it is easy to forget that you can fancify your foods a bit at home, too. We have started throwing berries and chocolate chips into both waffles and pancakes. The kids for some reason prefer the additions in waffles, but K and I really like blueberry pancakes. Sometimes I add extra cinnamon, too.

Ground Beef Flautas

Today I am sharing a super quick recipe that can be done in under 30 minutes, including chopping the onion. You can make it without preparing ahead of time, unlike if you wanted to make this with slow-cooked beef, which would taste great. I like that this is easy, is a crowd-pleaser, is a savory treat, and can be made dairy-free.
