We had a super rainy and chilly January here and I was trying to make all of the comforting foods I could find. Soup is top of the list.
I decided it was time to do some review with the Chiplet since we had done so many letters and he certainly knew some better than others. This was a chance for me to assess the progress. But it should be pointed out that he is never consistent with things. So, even if he seems to not know something one day, he might actually know it. Basically, he isn’t the type to “perform” by request. Your kid might be the same.
I’ve made these before and this one is probably my favorite so far. I liked the flavor of it, and it didn’t require a blender, which would have been nice back when the Chiplet was a baby and doing naps around lunchtime when I’d want to make brunch.
Now onto a trickier letter… M! Let’s jump right in with M is for mouse.
Let me preface this by saying that this chicken is quite salty. Even K said that, but he wasn’t complaining since he loves all things salty. That was even without adding more of the sauce to it to baste the chicken, since I didn’t find it necessary. I think I would reduce the amount of soy sauce next time, just to see. However, it produced super tender chicken with great flavor and all of us were fans.
This was back from the Chiplet’s birthday week. Because of his birthday, I wanted to again keep it easy for him since he already knew letter S a bit.
I have definitely made vanilla ice cream before but I wanted to try this one and I’m glad I did. It stayed scoopable and delicious for weeks!
