Yep, here I am again with a non-seasonal post. I decided this was as good a time as any to share some of the last Halloween pictures. Enjoy the semi-throwback pictures and I hope you can eat lots of food tomorrow if you celebrate.
This year, we ended up decorating pumpkins different ways.
I ended up having some activities we didn’t get to this Halloween season, but no biggie. I will save them for next year. We really got into it, and the Chiplet learned to say the word “Halloween” and recognize Halloween decorations. Both kids really enjoyed giving out candy, but I think the Chiplet enjoyed trick or treating more than the Fudgelet. He would have kept going, but the Fudgelet wanted to come home to give it out.
We started by doing a sticker kit for a pumpkin for the Chiplet, but the stickers didn’t want to work, and I think it worked better last year because I had the pumpkins inside whereas keeping them outside and bringing them in for decorating meant the stickers didn’t want to stick.
The ghost pumpkin was the second one the Fudgelet has ever helped carve. Last year we just drew some shapes and he helped cut them out. This year we did one of those stencils and he helped.
Then we had a dinosaur kit which was okay…it was good for making a teal pumpkin for allergy-friendly treats. The kids helped paint it and I did the stick parts. The other pumpkin was decorated by both kids with stickers.
And then…the Fudgelet had a school field trip to a pumpkin patch, so he came home with another pumpkin right before Halloween.
I didn’t know if we would have time, but the Chiplet helped us clean it out.
I freehand drew a Spiderman face and carved it. It was actually fun since I hadn’t done that for awhile.
And the finale:
It was hard to get a picture of them both looking and not moving…so I am just going to share this one and call it good. K wore a “Winter Soldier” hoodie and I wore a “Captain Marvel” hoodie.
