Continuing from my last post with sous vide shrimp, I realized I hadn’t shared a sous vide salmon recipe on here even though I make it regularly. It doesn’t look the prettiest but it is always cooked nicely and not overcooked.
You can put anything you want in with the salmon for seasoning, along with a bit of fat (oil, butter, etc.).
Directions for Sous Vide Sesame Salmon
- 1 pound salmon
- 1 Tablespoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon ground white pepper
- Pinch of kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons garam masala (or another spice mixture you enjoy)
- 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons mayonnaise
Mix together all of the ingredients (except for the salmon) in a bowl. Take your sous vide setup and preheat the water to 124 degrees F. Put the salmon in a ziploc bag and spread the seasoning mixture on top of the salmon. Seal the bag and cook for 30-45 minutes if the salmon is 1 inch thick or thinner, 45-60 minutes if it is 1-2 inches thick.
Remove from the bag and serve!
