Friday Favorites 31

As I write this, I have no working oven. I had someone come yesterday…and all they did was damage the screws that held the oven into the wall. So then I had to have a different person tackle the screws so that tomorrow the first person can come back and hopefully repair the oven. Because I really do miss it. I’ve been terribly sick all week with a cold and am finally getting better, which means I am finally up to more cooking. Like cakes. I luckily had some cake because I made it shortly before my cold and I couldn’t taste anything so just saved it. But I am running low and I also want to use the oven for other things, like dinner. I have a stove, a microwave, and a toaster, so I am not entirely without appliances, but the oven is making me sad. Fingers crossed it gets repaired, otherwise I will have to wait much longer if it needs to get replaced. In the meantime, I am sharing some recipes I wish I could make.

In case you think you saw this same shirt on him about 2 years ago, well, I actually bought one size when we found out we were expecting the Chiplet, and then went back and got this size after we found out the Chiplet was another boy. They only had the little bro one in larger sizes, so I wanted to make sure they could wear them at the same time. The Fudgelet has been turning everything into “balance beams” lately, so that is what he is doing here.

The Chiplet is rocking a ginormous hat because unless it ties, he won’t keep it on his head. And even then it can be a struggle. I didn’t have to worry so much about the Fudgelet at this age because he had so much more hair and had a darker complexion. So far the Chiplet has remained paler. I’m hoping he becomes like the Fudgelet and K, meaning that he wouldn’t have to worry much about sunburn (I burn so easily).

  1. Cinnamon roll plus cake? Sounds like a brunch dessert!
  2. I like the design of this cake, which could work for any special “American” holiday with the red, white, and blue.
  3. Cake and brownies together? Decorated to look like a crown? Adorable!
  4. This baked chicken dish looks so good to please everyone in my family!
  5. I like the idea of pineapple mixed with the meat for these meatballs.
